Hello crafty friend, thanks so much for joining me today. This is my first card as the March Crazy Cousin for the Double Trouble Challenge blog.
The theme for the Double Trouble Challenge #51 is “Let’s go green” and the details follow:
Thing 1 (Trouble Maker) – Make sure you have some green on your project, other colors can be used
Thing 2 (Double Dare) – If you use green on your project, you can link to the Heart2Heart challenge “The Wearin’ of the green”
Thing 4 – (Twisted Sister’s Twin) – Include something gold on your project (this is an optional twist)
I’m a Girl Scout Leader and I love camping so I decided to make an outdoor scene. On a white card panel, I blended Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks to create the background. I then splattered gold acrylic paint and let it dry. I chose two sentiments from the Your Next Stamp S’more Fun set and stamped and embossed them in gold. I stamped the images from the same set, watercoloured and fussy cut them. I stuck the rabbit with double sided tape flat on the panel. The bear, fox and camp fire were added with foam tape to give the scene some dimension. I’ve only just noticed that I forgot to colour the fox’s snout, but it will have to remain as is. I’m so pleased with the result of this card. I don’t eat marshmallows, but these cuties seem to be enjoying their toasted treats!
I wish to offer my heartfelt thanks to the ladies of Double Trouble for the opportunity to guest design for the challenge. I’ll admit I was terrified when I received the initial email, but my daughters encouraged me to give it a shot, and I’m glad I accepted.
